Thursday 17th

0830hrs the team went active after a request from Cambridge Search and Rescue (CAMSAR) to assist them with a search for a elderly female that had been reported missing by her family. Sally Middleton (82) went missing on Monday morning after catching a bus to Peterborough city centre.

YALSAR mobilised a team, which meet at Warrington police station Peterborough to assist in a joint search along with CAMSAR and MIDSHIRES. The search lasted all day with a number of searches conducted through the day in several areas of Peterborough but to no avail.

Friday 18th

YALSAR was requested to join CAMSAR in a new location for the missing 82 year old female as new information had come via the police through the night from studying CCTV footage. It was positively identified that the misper had been seen alighting from the 202 bus at Morton near Bourne in Lincolnshire.

YALSAR joined CAMSAR and MIDSHHIRES with the assistance of Cambridge Police. A full scale search of the surrounding area was conducted by all three teams and a body was discovered in the area. The body found at 12.15pm 18th February in a field in Morton village, near to Bourne still needs to be formally identified but the family believe it to be Mrs Middleton.

Our sincere thoughts and feelings are with the family of the deceased at this very upsetting time.
