YALSAR was founded April 2010 and operate as a Lowland search and rescue team in the areas of Yorkshire and Lincolnshire.

Series in the woodsWe operate a dedicated team for each area, each with its own team members and equipment, including control vehicle and search controllers.
Lincolnshire is in fact the biggest county in England. With this in mind we formed as a unit together with the understanding that a call out in North Lincolnshire it is quite feasibly attended by members of the South Yorkshire team before members of the Lincolnshire team.

Available 24 hours a day 365 days a year the team is equipped to reach even the farthest parts of the county within an hour. All of our volunteers are trained to national standards in comprehensive Search and Rescue techniques and those skills are extended by further training in other relevant subjects like first aid, navigation and communications to name but a few.

We work with South Yorkshire Police and other emergency services to undertake specialist searches or major incident support.

We undertake searches in city centres, the country side and buildings. We search for missing people and help with evidence searches. We are skilled at crime scene protection and casualty evacuation.
